This is the link to their website - https://www.barclays.co.uk/help/remediation/orf

This will bring you to a generic Barclays help page, you must then use the sites search function to look for "remediation form" it should be the top hit.

Click on that, and enter your reference number and access code.

bank statement of account I wish it paying into
marriage certificate if name on account different
    proof of address

    Why can’t I just receive a cheque?

Got one in November for over £400. It was an old EGG card that got took over by Barclays years ago.
Used it to fully pay off another card.

I'm now closer to being debt free. 😁👍

  • A relative of mine had paid off & closed a Barclaycard account & was fed up of the pestering letters offering further credit, so he stopped opening their letters. It is highly probable that he's had a cheque & it was shredded with junk mail. Is there any way to check? And would Barclaycard be likely to re-issue one? He no longer has a Barclaycard account, so it's not as easy as just logging in to check.

    Yes. He can ask Barclaycard.
  • I received my letter dated the 21st December and received on the 15th Jan so only had a couple of days to the cut off of 30 days. I had a refund of £931!!! It takes around 30 days. I called the number on the letter and she talked me through it. As mine was over £450 I had to provide bank statement showing my bank logo etc and a form of ID (driving licence). Don't have the card any more and paid it off in full last year, so opted for a bank transfer! DON'T IGNORE YOUR LETTERS!!

because almost nobody uses cheques nowadays, and the banks certainly aren't going to encourage their use.

The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • My mother received one of these letters offering £1300 for a card that was paid off a while ago. Quite how she racked up that amount of fees, I've no idea. The letter says that they need a scan of a bank statement and passport/driving licence to make the payment. She has neither passport or driving licence so phoned them and they want her birth certificate and images of the front and back of her bank card. This strikes me as big red flag but as far as I can tell it's definitely Barclaycard she's communicating with. Can anyone explain why they'd need her bank card if the account details are on her statement?
