Natwest mortgage

Had my mortgage application with Halifax through a broker. Never had any loans, mortgages etc. The broker never asked me to submit my salary bank statement. The broker also admitted he may have made a mistahe. Halifax could never validate my salary. I am in a permanent employment. Ultimately it got refused last week. So I have a couple of hard searches from Halifax in my credit file in December. Nothing besides this is adverse in my credit report.  Now I have got AIP from Natwest and have a meeting with Natwest mortgage advisor tomorrow. Just trying to understand what is Natwests opinion with person with mortgage hard search a month before.

    On its own,
one/two recent hard-footprint credit-checks should not have an impact on the NatWest mortgage. If the NatWest AIP was based on a soft-footprint credit check, any impact would normally show up then.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the reason for the Halifax decline won't again be an issue here.

    Hi K_S
I always had my salary bank statement with me, but my broker never asked them from me and when I called Halifax they said they could not validate my salary. What should I do ? Shall I state about this to Natwest?

@piyush5 Apologies I can't really give you any useful advice as it's not clear to me what's happened with Halifax.

It looks like Halifax haven't seen his payslips / statements showing his income, and then declined the mortgage because they couldn't validate the income he was claiming on his application.

Obviously someone's fouled up somewhere in not asking for it / providing it, but the question is essentially will NatWest understand that and / or will it affect a proper application with them?
