'Old' competitons

I have noticed over the past few days a lot of comps being posted that are weeks or even months old - i.e. they have been live for ages. Ones from December, November and even last October.
Now I know the search on here is almost 100% useless but i can't believe that most of these haven't been posted previously

2025 Comps 7127: wins 5: value £1402
2024 Comps 13526: wins 13: value £1475

    As long as they're still open I can't see a problem  :/

By open I mean not after the closing date.

The problem is, if a competition is posted twice, you may easily enter it twice, not realising that you have entered previously.
Some competitions that only permit one entry may disqualify both entries if they think you are breaking the rules.
This is why duplicates are reported when spotted and a merge should be requested.

These days many comps block second entries and many others say that second and subsequent entries will be ignored but there could still be some that go for the total disqualification.

    I know that ta!  ;)

...she's asking why it takes so long for "new" comps to get posted on mse when they have been open for weeks/months  & listed elsewhere 🐥 ages ago ... not duplicates of comps previously posted on here.

    As a non comp poster I won't say what I'm thinking.  o:)

I have noticed this too. It used to be when I got an email about a competition it had been posted here before I got round to looking at the email. It was almost a race to post (all being so desperate to get the thanks and a chance to have tea with Martin).

Now it can be days later and the competition hasn't been posted. I post the odd few as i always did but I do miss the posting legends.  :'(
