    Oh yes I didn't mean to be ungrateful about state pension, it is a fair amount although not very realistic if you live in London...I doubt the pension will keep up with the current speed of inflation.

    Apart from this year, the state pension has been increasing more than inflation , due to the Triple Lock .
    You have to remember that older people vote in much larger % than other age groups, so it pays politicians to keep them sweet .
