Change the lenses in our frames

Hello everyone.

Just after a bit of advice from MSE'rs, and ideally people's experiences of having the lenses on their glasses changed.
I have two pairs of glasses to be done, and my wife has three (some for work, some for home). We don't want to buy new frames, we like these ones. Plus they'll end up in landfill.
So far we've got the following companies: spex4less, lensology,  and selectspecs. Have any of you used them, are there alternatives. and what was your experience?

Thank you.

Getting new lenses in frames at a high street optician cost more than a new pair of glasses (and so you're aware, there is a risk of the frame breaking when the lens is replaced).

I've never tried an online option though.

Are either of you astigmatic (anything in the CYL column of your prescription).
if so I wouldn’t go online - you need glasses fitted.
the lenses is not uniform, it’s a different prescription in different places and need to fit correctly (if you have CYL).

im a fan of Asda - glasses from £45 all inclusive.

lots of opticians will recycle your glasses for use in the 3rd world world where I’m sure they will be gratefully received. Please don’t put them in landfill but drop them off at an optician (keep some spares).

No experience to offer, but I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

Have, in the past paid out for nice frames, only to find my prescription has changed a year or two down the line - and had been said, it's cheaper to get new specs than new lenses in the old frames.

    Hello,

I promised I would keep you updated. I ended up using Lensology, I ended up paying £28 for everything using the old frames.
They came in time, and were really friendly when dealing with them.
