Working from home tax relief (Coronavirus)

Hello, I have a question about claiming tax relief because my employer has required me to work from home due to the pandemic. My gas, electricity and water costs have increased due to working from home and I believe I can claim for this. However, do I need to calculate whether these costs are outweighed by the saving on commuting costs? Or can I claim simply on the basis of the additional utility costs?

The simplest thing is to claim the flat allowance as relief against tax (£6 per week). The actual value is in the range £1.20 to £2.70 per week for the majority of people.
