12 months on and discharged.

Today I was officially discharged from bankruptcy. The last 12 months have literally flown by, whilst I haven’t posted much I can only say thanks to those that have in the past. The wealth of info on this site enforced my decision to declare and reading the experiences of others has been so helpful.
For those considering I can offer the following, my experience with the OR has been very straight forward, I had an initial interview over the phone and had to supply basic bank details , income etc. About 3-4 months in I received an ipoq request which i completed and was told within days that no ipa would be required. I did sweat a bit over the last 6 weeks wondering whether another ipoq would be required but to no avail.
Now admittedly I am self employed and could tailor my income around potential ipa requirements , I simply worked enough to cover my outgoings. Some may have issues with this as to whether it’s morally correct but it’s worked for me and I avoided the ipa.
For those on paye obviously this would be more difficult.
My partner helped me out during the last year and without her support I wouldn’t be where I am today. Obviously my credit rating is poor to say the least but I’m happy to repair that over time, the availability of credit contributed considerabley to the mess I was in as well as my own recklessness. I therefore have no desire to embark on a credit path again.So in a nutshell, to those who are teetering on the edge my experience would recommend taking the final step, it is a big step but the difference it makes to your mental well being is phenomenal.
