O'neills conveyincing

Options
My buyer is using O'neills conveyancing service. What should be a straightforward chain free situation has taken 21 weeks and I'm still waiting. Communication is appalling, phone is constantly engaged, emails are ignored.
They don't tell the truth either, it's difficult to know I'f it's fact or fiction with O'neills. This debacle has put my plans in jeopardy.
Avoid O'neills at all costs

Ignoring the fact that chain free isn't a guarantee of a quick transaction, what else makes it straightforward?

So obviously they did something right if your friends had a good experience. So again to you, what made you think they could meet your self imposed timescale?

The Christmas holidays would have slowed things down also.

Reading the google reviews, a lot of unhappy clients, a lot of 1 star ratings.

Surely it's a matter for your buyer. As you aren't the client.

  • I used O'neils last year for both a remortgage and a mortgage on the new property. Found them absoutely spot on. The app they have is brilliant as well.
OP, why are you contacting your buyers solicitors?

  • O'Neils (assuming the Manchester well Stockport one) are a smaller conveyancing warehouse with lots of assistants and a few proper legal bods.  They generally have a reputation for being either really good or really bad, whether that's the clients expectations or being some of the legal bods are good and others are rubbish, I don't know.
They seem to be a little chalk and cheese, I know people who have been very happy with them, and others who haven't.

Assuming people are talking about O'Neill Patient Solicitors, they are I think the 3rd largest conveyancer in the country by volume so it is inevitable there will be many poor stories as well as good.
I used them in the past for a house purchase and a remortgage and had no problems.

OP/Grindeys were swallowed by a private equity firm and IMHO the service has not been as good from either/both since.

Latest 24 reviews have been 1 star.
Maybe a change in the company services/structure or something.
