Dolly's DFW and Beyond Diary

Options
New year - new diary.

Say this every year but I really am aiming to keep this one up to date with all the highs and lows, unexpected and expected expenses, needs and wants, splurges and saves and everything in between.

My aim for this new diary is the following;
  • Be debt free by March 2025
  • Have an Emergency Fund (EF)
  • Get rid of all credit cards (CC)
  • Organise my funds better each month
  • Save for expected annual bills
  • Shop around for the best deals
  • Surveys, surveys, surveys
  • Birthdays and Christmas 2022 all purchases either in the sale or paid for by survey earnings
  • Remember its a marathon not a sprint
  • Pick up good financial habits and stick to them
  • Shop for wants and not needs
  • Stick to a better budget for groceries and meal plan
  • Usual life time struggle of trying to get to goal weight and then staying there
  • Be better organised at home with shopping, chores and all that fun stuff
  • Stop spending a fortune on toys for the dog
  • Enjoy life in between all of this
I'm waiting on my statements being produced on 24th or 25th January before I can sit down and put a proper plan in place.

Nice to be back.

Dolly

Hi, Good to start getting on top of it. My debt free aim is about the same - I am working one debt at a time.

A lot of your aims are similar to mine - I use prolific academic for surveys, I find that one seems to find me a few to do. Any other sites you find, I'd be interested. I'm finding my diary is helping me to stay focused so far this year!

Best of luck - I'll be following your journey :)

Had a flat tyre today. Someone from work changed it for me cos I was in the office to collect a chair. When he took out the spare tyre it was swimming in its wee compartment! I could not believe how much water was in there sloshing about!

My MOT is due 27th January but I am going to see if I can take it in early. Will need the MOT, the tyre fixed and the aquarium dealt with - who knows how much it is going to cost me! Will have to go on a CC cos I have no money to my name.

Oh the joys of being an irresponsible money person.

Fingers crossed it doesn't cost you too much. My car is in for a check on Monday because engine light came on a couple of times. Gone off now, so hoping all is good and it was just a funny 5 mins!
