Asking creditor to remove a missed/late payment marker (PayPal)

Hello everyone:
Long story short, paid PayPal Credit with money I had in my bank account in December (minimum as was/am going to clear balance this week as interest free period runs out). Turns out there was an overlap in payments going out so the payment was rejected. I didn't know this until I checked my credit file today (as I regularly do), where I noticed a missed/late payment marker.
This was entirely an accident and hasn't happened with PayPal credit before (or any other creditors for at least three years, since I started sorting my finances).
I have contacted PayPal to tell them I will settle the account tomorrow.
In short, can they remove the marker if I ask them to?
Do creditors ever do this and is it as waste of time me asking?
Thanks
Graham

I think it's always worth asking; but I've had no luck in asking companies to remove or add markers- Even when I've provided Experian with photographs of letters showing dates of defaults they have referred them to the company in question and about 6 weeks later I get a response from Experian basically stating that the company doesn't see that there is a mistake so they won't change it.Bottom line;

Yes they technically can as they are in control of what information they report.Graham1982 said:

However as it appears to be factually correct then it is extremely unlikely that they will remove it.0 -
Thank you all. I messaged them but at the moment no response. I might phone at some point but as suggested, doesn't look hopeful.0

I would suggest that if this is your one and only late payment marker then don't worry, it wont cause much of an issue.0
