Hi there we bought a camera just over a year ago and seven weeks ago the camera wouldn't focus (it's a digital camera). I took it back to the shop as it was about three days before 12 month waranty ran out. We had also bought an extra two year policy at the time of purchase. They sent the camera away to be fixed and advised it would be no more than six weeks. Seven weeks later we got th camera today got home put the battery in and it won't work at all. We have charged the battery just in case and it makes no difference. What I'm wanting to know is can we ask for a refund or replacement at this stage? We don't want to be without our camera for another six weeks, especially with christmas and our little girls birthday coming up. We bought the camera and extra policy from Jessops....... Any advice would be great, we just want to know where we stand before they blag our hads when we ring tomorrow.

If you've paid extra for the warrenty then fight for a proper service and if they keep messing you about ask for a replacement (at least until yours can be fixed).
My OH had this with a DVD player, it was a top of the range one and he paid nearly £100 just for the warrenty (3 years) and it broke. They made us go all the way over to the nearest store (an 18 mile round trip) and then back again to collect it 2 weeks later. We got it home and the bloody thing was worse!! We couldn't even get the DVD tray open to check if the sound was working :rotfl: Oh rang them up and went mad, he demanded that they sort it and in the end they sent an engineer round to the house at a time convienient to us to fix it. We havent had any problems since.
You've paid an insurance and you are well within your rights to use it.
