Curry's Refuse to give a Refund on Faulty Goods

I bought a coffee maker from Curry's in May 2021. It has developed a fault so I returned it to Curry's and requested a refund. They refused and offered a replacement or a repair instead. Are they right to do this? I thought my consumer rights entitle me to a refund as the item is faulty. Thanks for any advice folks.

From 'Which'
- You have 30 days from taking ownership of a product (this could be the date of purchase or the date it was delivered to you - whichever is later) to claim a refund if it is faulty
- After this time you have to give the retailer an opportunity to repair or replace it before you can claim a refund.

I'm pleasantly surprised that Currys have offered a replacement or repair. They don't have a great reputation in situations like this.
But yes, they're entitled to do what they're doing.2 -
You are only entitled to a full refund within the first 30 days.mjjc said:I bought a coffee maker from Curry's in May 2021. As it is over 6 months old, it is actually up to you to prove that it has failed due to an inherent fault, rather than from being mis-used, so if they are automatically offering a repair or replacement without asking for a report to verify the fault, then this is good news! Accept the replacement!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I'd have to say I have never had a problem returning stuff to Currys for a replacement or a refund - even if bought in store. The last item was a change of mind refund on a TV in store.Aylesbury_Duck said:I'm pleasantly surprised that Currys have offered a replacement or repair. I sometimes wonder how much of a difference it makes how you approach the problem initially. Do people sometimes have too much "attitude"?3
