Mileage Tax Relief - Self Assessment

Hi everyone,

My wife worked as a Community Care Worker until Sept 2021.

For her self assessment return, she declared her mileage for the year 20/21.

We were expecting her tax code to be adjusted accordingly for 21/22 but have seen no change.

Is it usually applied to the following year, or applied to the year after submission i.e.22/23?

The company never reinbursed any amount for the mileage.

Yes, but now works in a Care Home with no mileage.
