6 years post BR

Options
Hi folks,

It's just over 6-years since I went BR and so much has changed. It really was one of the best things I ever did and so to all of you currently going through the process, I wish you the very best of luck.

Since Dec 2015, I have maintained a spotless credit file, took a low limit card with Capital One after the first 12 months or so, and paid it off in full every month. I was able to get a mortgage 5 years in with a reasonable rate and with no additional restrictions on the lending amount (same multiples that other 'non BR' joint applicants get). Having checked my credit report with experian, it's back up to a frankly astonishing 998/999. Honestly, it felt like this day would never arrive, but stick with it and you absolutely CAN get your financial life back on track.

Once again, I wish you all the very best of luck - I know how incredibly stressful it can be.

Cheers,
ABD

If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)

Well done! I had a DRO and felt the same as you once the whole 6 years were over.

Nobody but you sees your credit score, btw but I do think it's a great boost to see it hovering in the high 900s on Experian!
