HSBC - EWS1 and consent to let

I wondered if anyone has any advice. I have an empty flat on a residential mortgage but cannot change to BTL as not able to get EWS1 form. Has anyone managed to get CTL from HSBC to cover the time taken to make changes to get the work done.

@foyna I can't speak for HSBC specifically but generally speaking, based on the experience of a couple of clients in similar positions, lenders (and housing associations where their permission to let is required) have been sympathetic to this kind of request due to EWS1.
In some cases they've had to escalate (through a formal complaint focusing on financial hardship due to not being able to let the property) if the CTL application was declined in the first place.
