With a heat-pump you would have been better off with something like Octopus Go at 5p/kWh overnight and getting SEG at 5p/kWh for excess solar.
Now Octopus Go is 7.5p though but at a COP of 2+ you are looking at 3.75p per kWh so still quids in...1 -
I have a Zappi and have no problem getting it to work when I just have excess solar plus a third party diverter that works in conjunction, to use any further excess - at the same time as the Zappi or separately (I prioritise the Zappi as that is the better benefit option for me.)Now it happens that (but is irrelevent) that the diverter is an Immersun, designed, produced and sold originally by the guys at MyEnergy who also do the Zappi. They do not communicate with each other but there are sufficient Current Transformers to make them work simply and seamlessly. The same would be sais if it were a battery charge system or a different diverter that by itself can just use excess power. However I would recommend using the Eddi, if using a Zappi, as you then have fully compatible systems with full comms between them and the online MyEnergy server for website monitoring. The Immersun still works well but the monitoring website is a little bit flaky intermittently and periods where the current owners servers perhaps need a kick and they are not very fast to get it back on line - though it is free to use!MyEnergy have a vested interest in good service to support their sales and they are excellent with support IMHO.0
