Taken a tub of (I'm pretty sure today) the Xmas turkey in gravy out for tonight with some potatoes of some description and whatever I can find veg-wise in the bottom of the fridge. I think there are still some carrots, swede and sprouts left so that will do.5

I made some spiced parsnip soup for our lunch today and there's some leftover for another day which is good. I also messaged to use up a few tins from the stores in a big pan of veggie chilli - it contains tomatoes, kidney beans, black eyed beans, swede, sweet potato, onions, cabbage and carrots so I'll definitely be getting my full range of veg in today as that's going to be tea. There's tons of it so it'll do another meal later this week as well.

I also need to be better at labelling the freezer things @oceandreamer, there have been some questionable pivots for dinner more than once!
Getting back on track with using things up and still trying to work through Christmas things - definitely won't be buying as much food next Christmas. Tonight's concoction is brie and bacon pasta with the last of the onion chutney stirred through it. Will try and concoct some kind of salad to go on the side of it to break up the stodge.
Have also just realised that I'm planning on having some form of pasta for 4 nights running this week but hey the weather calls for warming and comforting food and you can't get more comforting than a big bowl of pasta 😋Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20176 -
I'm not that keen on pasta ruby_eskino but it's great for using things up. I've got some leftover smoked salmon mousse out of the freezer for tomorrow and am going to stir it through pasta with some spinnach. Couldn't really think what else I could use it for. We'll see what it's like!6

That sounds like a great combination @oceandreamer 😋
Lunch today is the last of the Christmas wensleydale with some crackers, cucumber and a random cup a soup I found in the cupboard. Dinner tonight is leftover mushroom pasta from the freezer.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20176 -
The pasta was a success. I've taken out a packet of reduced garlicicky breadcrumbed chicken breasts for tomorrow night plus some (unknown flavour) soup for lunch - well I hope it's soup! Have had three no spend days in a row now and feeling quite put out as I know I'll have to buy milk tomorrow. This will be a real test as to whether I can get out of the shop without anything else.6

Found a portion of leftover lentil curry in the freezer and a lone naan bread and we have a packet of indian spiced lentils in the cupboard. So combining them together for dinner tonight and will cook a small amount of rice to split between the two of us along with the naan as carb. I'll chuck some cucumber on the side of mine as a bit of greenery.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20174

I've hardly seen the inside of our freezer for a few days but I opened it now to put some more stuff in. Only a couple of fishcakes as I saw them at a good price and DH likes them for dinner when I'm working of an evening.
I also bought a couple more boxes of mince pies as the deep-filled ones are 17p a box.
Dinner tonight is the rest of the Moroccan stew, to counteract the mince pie calories.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Dinner last night went down really well with DH so slowly getting him more on board with legumes 👍
Tonight is the last portion of my mushroom lasagne from the freezer so lunch to day is going to be a picky plate with some cheese and crackers from Christmas and a couple of tiny pears I found in the fruit drawer.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20175 -
Did indeed manage to only buy milk - I feel like I'm on a real mission! Noodles tonight with a bit of leftover frozen port from goodness knows when, a pepper, couple of very old spring onions which were ok once I'd taken about four layers off and topped with a halved boiled egg. Quite tasty really and enough left over for a lunch (back in the freezer).4
