Managed Vetting for police while on a DMP

I’ve been through an interview process and been offered a job pending background checks with a police service in England.
When filling in financial I’ve declared all outstanding debts, totalling approximately £23K which I arranged a debt management plan to sort out. I was always able to manage the payments and never missed anything but I just wanted to have an end date to be debt free so I chose that option. I spent the money so I’ll be paying it back, which is why I didn’t opt for an IVA.
I currently work in a similar role (for the last 4.5 years) to the one I’ve been offered with another police service and have, while in a DMP, had a lower level of vetting(police vetting and CTC) renewed, so my current workplace is aware and it wasn’t an issue.
I admitted on the form the debt accrued when I was young and didn’t have a long term financial plan so it was irresponsibility but took proactive steps to rid myself of it in a fair and responsible way as that is not reflective of my financial activity now. My debt has come down about £3.5k in the last year and this job will double my salary so I’ll be paying even more off it.
Realistically, am I likely to have to appeal a rejection based on my finance? I’m more than happy to have my finances reviewed regularly once in post to confirm I’m being responsible, but the debt isn’t unmanageable I just agreed to a DMP so there wasn’t a rolling long term debt hanging over me and I could have a Debt free date.
thanks in advance for any advice

Potentially a police forum might be more appropriate? Know that https://police.community/ have an depth section on recruitment.1

Vetting is about risk management around your potential to be blackmailed/bribed. The fact you have told them about the debt and that it is being managed well will go in your favour.1

I haven’t had my status granted yet but it’s looking a lot more likely and it’s a load off my mind that my debt may in fact not destroy my chances at a dream job4
