SSE delay in getting export approval?

We had a 6.7kw (5kw inverter) system installed mid November. The installer said that they sent off the notification to Scottish Southern Electric for DNO approval shortly after commissioning. However, I still have not got the DNO approval. Has anyone got any experience of how long it is taking to get
aproval from SSE?
... I am probably just impatient.

Purely anecdotal but I get the strong impression that DNOs aren't very quick to approve things or make any changes, like putting in a larger main fuse, at anything other than a slow crawl.I'm about to put in for a G99 connection, to a different DNO, to accomodate a largish PV array and batteries, and I'm not confident of gettting a reply any time soon.1

Thanks. I expect you are right. Apparently the installer got approval for the 5kw inverter before the installation, so I had just assumed it would be a tick box after that.
At least, I am not missing out on much at the moment, since the sun has been so elusive.0 -
Octopus did mine in a week, unsure if DNO approval was correctly checked, I never received anything from the installers but applied anyway.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.1

I waited 3 months in August for my DNO approval (in the North West). My installer said this was unusual and they were blaming it on staff shortages. It delayed me being able to register for SEG payments which was a little annoying.Octopus does ask for letter / email approval from DNO so I didn’t bother applying until I had it - sounds like you got away with that bit @Spies 😀Solar install Aug 2021, Lancashire

DNO approval for G99 install took 6 weeks for us, UK Power networks.
It'll be interesting to see how long it takes after Panels and Battery install to get commissioned.
