Can't get plug in to adaptor & Amazon returns?

I know the returns is more the consumer rights forum but wondering if someone can offer some help on this.

So my wife unplugged a plug from the adaptor to plug in something else.

Finished with that appliance so came to unplug that and then re-plug what was originally in its place.

It now doesn't plug in at all. The bottom right 'hole' is causing the problem. No amount of force is forcing it.

Why would this suddenly be blocking a plug from seating properly?

I bought it 11 July. The Amazon return window ended a month later in August.

Surely you get more than a months warranty on items? How do you go about returning for exchange as this is knackered? Unless one of you can offer advice on a fix which is why i'm here.

Sounds like the item has developed a fault, so follow Amazon's process for 'defective items after 30 days'
Amazon will either repair or replace the item.
In this case, I would think they will just replace it.

Likely just mechanical stickiness of the safety shutter.

Unplug the adapter and all devices plugged into it.

With the adapter in your hand, use something like a screwdriver to push into the earth pin hole to operate the shutter mechanism that opens the live and neutral pin entry holes.
