Is there still a way of getting free loft insulation (Green Deal/Initiative)? Blowed if I can find it. I have a dormer bungalow with loads of 'eaves' rather than a loft. Any links welcome. TIA

Not necessarily.
"Who can benefit? You may qualify for ECO if you claim certain benefits and meet other requirements.
In some cases you may be able to get help even if you’re not receiving any benefits."0 -

Loft insulation is not very expensive and is easy enough to put down. Crawling around under eves is probably best left to a young (small) person with strict instructions to avoid disturbing any pipes or cables. But....I suspect your biggest source of heat loss will be through the side walls of the dormer and any flat roof component. Neither are easy to insulate, and I doubt that there are any grants available. Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0
