received an Amazon gift card for Christmas and one item I’m thinking of is a deep fat fryer.  It’s basically for two people and probably won’t be used  that often
Air fryers seem to be all the rage at the moment, but I’m not sure.  If I want a cup I want a proper. Can you do breaded mushrooms in an air fryer, or battered fish for that matter.  I remain to be convinced
Any suggestions
Kevin

I have a ninja that has an airfryer setting and does fantastic battered fish, onion rings, samosas, oven chips, veg, roast potatoes. Chicken.

I have a airfryer and it does 'fried' chicken, scotch eggs, oven chips, fish, jacket potatoes etc etc I would say don't get one with just a trivet ensure it has a basket

A lot healthier than a deep fat fryer 😁 and no oil to deal with

My cooker broke a few months ago and I have had nothing to cook on.  I saw a cheap air fryer oven (you can roast, bake, air fry in it) but I didn't hold out much hope of it being any good.  Honestly, for the first three days, I had air-fried chips for tea because they were so delicious!  I thought air frying was a fad but I am definitely a convert!

Ninja all the way for me- it does almost everything you need
  • I have the ninja dual zone. Unless I'm doing it wrong, which is possible as I am new to air frying... You are a bit limited as to how much you can cook in many instances. i.e. If you want to cook a lot of something (chips, roast potatos are good examples) it can fail to turn out well... Soft chips!
It also takes a lot of getting used to as timings tend to be quite different. I often overcook most things! ☹️
Still learning but this over a deep fat fryer all day long!
