Hi,
I am (a little late) completing my self assessment.
We claimed child benifit as higher earners (our own ignorance). I have paid the charge for 20-21 and the previous year already. How should I declare this?

As a general rule you can only pay it via Self Assessment.
Do you mean you had a lower tax code so you provisionally paid more tax towards the actual High Income Child Benefit Charge. Which is established when you complete your Self Assessment return.0 -
Hi,
No, I was written to for the previous year, and elected to pay both years. So the tax year 20/21 is already paid.0 -
Are you referring to payments on account rather than the HICBC?0
