Yes my gut feeling is that we'll see more of an increase before we see it start to drop - and of course everything that's going on in the world could still affect things again anyway...sigh.
As you know we're with you on the money thing - not needing to "worry" about it as such, but I'd certainly say I'm feeling nervous about the way costs are increasing almost across the board at the moment. I think some of it quite honestly stems from feeling a degree of "uncomfortable" around how much other people will be struggling, too. It's never a nice feeling, is it.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@EssexHebridean You have perfectly summed up how I feel about the price rises. Nervous rather than scared and really feeling for people who were already struggling. According to the Rowntree Trust over 70% of children in the UK live in families who have an income below what is judged to be acceptable and of course within that group are a significant number living in worse poverty. With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Worrying all round indeed 😕 Doesn't feel nice at all.
With all this talk of increased costs of living, we are not helping ourselves today - we are in the stupid position of having the vet out for a home visit 😮😮 Can't go there as they are right in the middle of an avian flu outbreak zone and we'd have to apply to DEFRA for a special permit (!) which seems a little overkill. Any of the other chickens I'd probably risk the local vet my friend goes to, but this is Bessie... venerable elder chicken... She's ok, I just think her implant might be wearing off...
So this is NOT going to be a cheap day 😮😮😮 And we will be significantly failing our savings target for the month (probably won't save anything at all), and I'll definitely have to raid the premium bonds, although will try to do that AFTER this month's draw...
On the plus side, I heard today I've got through the first stage of the promotion process so that might eventually result in a pay rise, if I get through the second as well 😂 Find out in July...
Right, best get back to my all day zoom meeting 😮 I've been shoved in a breakout room as I have a conflict of interest for 10 mins 😂14 -
Eeek to chicken costs.... but totally understand why you'd pay them! (The special permit does sound like overkill!)
Excellent news about progressing to the next round for your promotion - we all know you're more than capable/deserve it so fingers crossed!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
