OK, just adding up spending for the trip...
Flights = £351.76
Airport parking = £75
Insurance = £39.79
Tickets (gig, stupid boat trip) = £124.25
Airport food/coffee etc = £50.01
Gifts for hosts =£14.95
Eating out/beer = £72.55
Trains/buses = £18.16
Misc cash (taxis, chemist, milk & fruit at supermarket) = £58.17
= £804.64
£466.55 was flights/parking/insurance, meaning we spent £338.09 between us while we were there.
I don't think that's too bad at all, although it sounds like a lot and clearly we could have cut back, particularly on Airport food, and boats trips we didn't even go on 🙄 I hadn't realised the gig would be quite so expensive either when I first agreed to it 🙈
Still, we had a cheerful time, and the money was there in the holiday pot 😊
FD card worked perfectly the whole time we were there 😊 Mr Cheery got cold feet and exchanged some cash at the airport, incurring a fee (included in the misc cost above), and he also used the wrong card for one of the train tickets, incurring another 9p fee, but I'll let him off that one 😂
So, onwards to filling the holiday pot for the next adventure 😊11 -
And now I'm back, a list for tomorrow! I do still want to take it relatively easy, still a bit wiped out from being so ill before we went.
* set up 2 DDs on the next bank account to be due a switch
* meal plan for the week
* possible trip to Mr A for supplies
* birthday present for mum
* bit of batch cooking for work dinners and post-work tea
* gentle workout
* bit of flute practice
* unpack and get some washing on
That'll probably do as a gentle reintroduction to life 😂8 -
I think most people would think a major hangover on £72.55 (discounting the food) was quite the achievement give what alcohol costs these days6

Oh Cheery! I hope you enjoyed it - there's certainly some different experiences there! Hoping German patisseries are still as good as they ever were ... and their coffees.2023: the year I get to buy a car5

Well, I have had a solo cafe trip for some plotting and scheming, made a meal plan, visited a rather busy Mr A for a stock up, and put some washing on. Just making us a cuppa.
Next jobs are putting the shopping away, and setting up the DDs. Then perhaps an hour of scything!5 -

Ha, well, it would have warmed me up, but I've not actually made it back outside 🙄
Washing is hung up though, kitchen cleaned and tidied, and shopping out away, so all good. Started unpacking from the trip.
Ooh, and my cashback arrived from opening the FD account! 😃 It hadn't tracked, so I was all ready to put in a support ticket, but I had an email this morning that it was ready to claim, so I did. So that's another £45 to add to the pot 😊😊10
