Oof, best of luck with that, Cheery, sorry Mr Cheery's got one of the colds that's going round. And I know what you mean about packing away the craft stuff so you can actually *use* the room
best of luck.

So sorry mr Cheery is unwell. We have had the lurgy for the best part of two weeks and just decided to freeze the festive meal til we feel more up to it and have made a big pot of soup for tomorrow instead.3

Me and OH have both come down with Covid this week. Thankfully his was very mild so he has been able to get on with prep so that Christmas lunch will go ahead as planned - if I were on my own I would probably just be having crisps and tinned peaches.6

Thank you all for your kind wishes xx Sorry to hear you're all lurgified TDQ and have to resort to soup - it does sound sensible in the circumstances. And covid over Christmas Ramouth, pah! I wouldn't blame you for crisps and tinned peaches one bit 😂
Well, I have been like a human whirlwind today, albeit a rather sedate one. Nipped into town for medicine and made sure Mr Cheery had everything he needed, then set to tidying, cleaning, and hoovering the study, kitchen, dining room, and living room - quite a task as they'd all got in rather a mess. Gave the chickens a thorough clean out too and changed their bedding, then changed our bedding too (but didn't replace ours with dust-extracted wood shavings sprinkled liberally with diatomaceous earth like I did for the chickens, obviously 😂)
Then neighbours turned up with gifts - fortunately I'd suspected they might so was prepared with theirs, although not with much in the way of biscuits etc to offer them. We managed the last 3 chocolates in a box we opened in an emergency the other day, and even reaorted to unwrapping presents we'd already been given in case they contained anything edible but sadly not 😂 Pilfered a few chocs off the Christmas tree though 😁
After they left, I made my tea, and some vague approximation of stuffing, and while the oven was on knocked up a batch of puff pastry mincemeat pinwheel things which were extremely easy and extremely cheerful and I'll definitely be doing again 😁
I've also wrapped all of Mr Cheery's presents - a chore much improved since I started using present bags rather than paper 😂 Sadly didn't get round to making any more though, and gave two of them away to the neighbours.
Mr Cheery has improved over the day thankfully, so we'll see about tomorrow.
So all that remains now is to watch The Snowman & The Snowdog, and wish you all a merry Christmas 😊🎄🎄8 -

Happy Christmas @Cheery_Daff
I hope Mr Cheery makes a speedy recovery and you manage to avoid catching it.
I made mincemeat pinwheels the other day, they are so easy, tasty and so well received.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thank you all, and merry Christmas to you all too! 🎄🎄
Pleased to say Mr Cheery has been feeling marginally better, and we did indeed visit his family. Had a nice day, and now on the way home - probably get there about 8.15 I think, and then I'll start ringing round my family members that I didn't manage to catch this morning.
We just opened one present each this morning before we left, so we'll have Christmas Morning 2 tomorrow I think (unless we get impatient and open everything tonight of course 😂)
Hope you're all having a nice restful and peaceful day x8
