I’ve actually redone the soles twice. Held them over the hob and scratched a new hatchety pattern in them to make them grip again. It did work for a while.

I bought some UGG-style boots from an online shop called KIWI sheepskins.
They are based in New Zealand.
I wear them as slippers.

I'm lucky that I can wear kids sizing.

No idea how the price compares but the shipping is incredibly fast.

I also bought me and my friend a pair of possum merino gloves in heather colour. They are really warm and we both love them.

Oh yes!!!  I agree heartily about Kiwi Sheepskins!!  I have had two pairs of UGG stylee boots from them in the past and a sheepskin bag(!).  They really are a great company, very friendly, efficient and super fast delivery bearing in mind the distance.  I keep meaning to buy some sheepskin insoles from them for my £5 chazza John Lewis slipper boots.....I give them a spruce up every year but the insoles have practically worn away now.  Also agree about the possum garments....I brought back a possum jumper and gloves from NZ about 15 years ago and they are still going strong and soooo warm and cozy!

@YoungBlueEyes 10 years wear is a bargain. Agree about the possum wool. DH had some fab and super warm fingerless gloves made of it.

A Cath Kidston style navy canvas bag with silver stars and a stripy strap £4

Reiss teal heavy cotton jumper with side pockets £4. I suspect it may have been donated cos it takes so long to dry.

A Jonnie B (kids Boden) velvet leopard print long jacket £5. Armholes on the snug side but otherwise fits me perfectly.

I bought a pair of these back in 2013, a very pale colour which seems to be discontinued (I've only just found the receipt in a box of UGGS I've sold on eBay). £48.95. I still wear them when I can rely on no rain (so not very often then  )

Can you wear those type of boots in wet weather? I did see a pair in a charity shop a few weeks ago.

Oh, I just read your whole post and realised you said you can't. That is what puts me off that style of boot as it does seem to rain a lot by the sea.

You can actually get covers for that style of UGGs - IMHO they look ridiculous.

I do have a number of pairs of UGGs that are leather and much more supportive.
I have these in white and also in grey.
They have a sheepskin insole and are full sheepskin right down to the toes.
Very warm and waterproof. It's like wearing a sheepskin coat on your feet.
The design is Adirondack, I believe they were called 'Bella boots' as Kristen Stewart wore a pair in Twilight movie.

@potternerd Yep 10 years (or maybe 11). They’re not even really dead yet, just worse for wear. 

Anyway I went in and they didn’t have my size or the same style. It’s full over-the-ankle boots, or mule type things, or some nonsense called sliders. And the price has more than doubled!! I know it’s been a long while like, but I’m not paying north of £200 for slippers! I’ll check out your kiwi link and see if I can get something similar. I’ll happily pay for quality that lasts (ie another decade) but £219.99 is just ridiculous 😡

Oh and the gloves I meant were the long black ones in the pic with the sports top. But I’ll take either. Or both!
