Student Loan on bonus / backpay

Hi,

I graduated in 2004, and usually pay £31 per month back on my student loan. We have add an annual payrise backdated until April 2021, which means with my backpay, I have paid £91 in December 2021. The payrise was only circa £700 for the year, which runs until next April. I get stung the same every year, as the payrise always comes in April so I end up paying more tax and NI in April, presumably because they think I am going to earn that every month. Do I have any recourse to ask for some money back from the SLC? Can I claim for previous years?

TIA

As you are already paying Student Loan each month I'm not sure why you think you have been stung for extra?

If the £700 had been spread evenly throughout the year you would have paid a little extra each month rather than a larger amount in December.  But I can't see that you would be worse off overall?
