Boxing Day Closures

Aldi, John Lewis and Sainsbury's are among the major retailers bucking trends by closing stores this Boxing Day. However, shoppers hoping to grab a bargain in the traditional Boxing Day sales can still do so with some shops starting in-store sales from 27 December and others launching online sales from 24 December instead.

    Seems a bit pointless if the website is still open for sales, still need staff for this.. 🤷 robbing Peter to pay Paul ..

    Annoying when some are making a virtue of it by claiming it's to benefit the staff and rewarding them with time off to be with their families and to relax after a year of working hard.  I suspect it's more to do with having to pay over the odds to have stores open due to the combination of protected holiday and Sunday working overtime - assuming their staff are eligible for either.

    Given most individual's propensity to over buy in the build up to Christmas I would have thought we could go cold turkey for 2 days and not do any shopping at all.
