I work at a supermarket and each year, does not matter when Christmas falls in the week, it’s always rammed between 9-1 on the 4 days before Christmas. (10-1 on Sundays)Then have customers moan it’s busy. My store opened an hour earlier and hour later. Hardly anyone is in the store.
We have plenty of stock of fresh f&v, milk, bread, meat etc all through the day.

I'm not up with the larks, hate shopping in the afternoons & don't step outside the door during the evenings, so mornings are when I habitually shop throughout the year
Oh & thank you to all the supermarket staff who work so hard at this time of the year & have irritated customers to deal with in some cases. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

I shop as soon as Lidl opens 08:00 and I'm back home by 08:35. I go shopping every Monday unless I run out of something I forgot to buy then I make another visit.Someone please tell me what money is0

All the major supermarkets in our area and noticeably quieter this year.
I have a feeling there might be a lot of cheap stuff on the shelves on Monday morning.

Also some people were planning to have a big family gathering. Know of 8 families - all over England, that had to have reduced numbers due to cases in one part of their family. Plus another 5 or 6 that were planning to but each household is doing their own thing.
There's usually are loads of reductions of normal food between Christmas and New Year as people are doing cold cuts, turkey curry etc. What I mean by 'normal' food are things like ready meals, chicken fillets, bung in oven stuff (pies, pizzas, meat cooked on the foil tray provided etc).
Also Sainsburys reduce their Xmas cheeses. Ignore the BB date as that's for clearance. For example, Sainsburys' cheese truckles are all dated 3rd Jan. Yet I had a e-coupon on my Lidl Plus app earlier this month for BOGOF on theirs. BB date on both are mid Feb.0
