I won a TV in a prize draw at work but they are refusing to release the tv to me. They are saying my name was entered into the draw accidentally as I was working my notice. Not sure if I should take them to the small claim court

Before you do anything, ask for the t&c of the prize draw. If they say that those working their notice are excluded, then they acted correctly.Signature removed for peace of mind1

Was this competition on an email? A poster? How did you hear about it? What terms were given then?Nickyr04 said:I won a TV in a prize draw at work but they are refusing to release the tv to me. Did you opt to buy a ticket for this draw or was it in effect a free bonus?Nickyr04 said:I won a TV in a prize draw at work but they are refusing to release the tv to me. It is quite normal not to pay a bonus, that would otherwise be due, to an employee who has handed in their notice. This may well be similar as it is unlikely that taking part in a prize draw is part of your contractual entitlement.1 -
Only if it was some sort of formal arrangement with proper terms and conditions, and you were 'included' in those T&C. Otherwise they can almost certainly rely on error/no intention to create legal relations.Nickyr04 said:I won a TV in a prize draw at work but they are refusing to release the tv to me.
