national insurance employed and self employed

I just need to understand one thing: I am both employed and self employed. I have completed my tax return and also paid the tax due for my self employed work. What I need to know is, does the tax bill I was issued include national insurance? I pay national insurance and tax for my employed work, but I don't know about the other bit. Thanks so much in advance.

Do you earn enough to need to pay NI on your self employed income? If so, then it will normally be included as part of your self assessment tax return.silversnail said:I just need to understand one thing: I am both employed and self employed. Good clear article here which is worth reading: https://www.litrg.org.uk/tax-guides/self-employment/what-national-insurance-do-i-pay-if-i-am-self-employed#toc-how-do-i-know-how-much-to-pay-Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -
Gosh. This is a really useful guide, as it goes into the issue of being employed and self-employed too. I didn't earn enough on my self-employed income, it seems, but that may change in the future. Many thanks.
