Persimmons

I got persimmons in my fruit box.  Google told me that they were the type that need to be ripe - and today I tried the one that had ripened.  OMG it was so sweet - like pure sugar and far too sweet for me.  I have another three that aren’t ripe yet.  What can I do with them to counter that sweetness?

I haven't tried them but have seen recipes for persimmons muffins

alternatively would adding to a natural yoghurt make a less sweet dessert

Mix into a fruit salad with something sharp like oranges / pineapple / redcurrants?

Its a bit of a weird fruit IMO, I don't quite see the point of it.

Update.  For anyone else struggling not o throw away this pointless fruit (Rosa-damascene  is right on the money with that description) I waited until they were very ripe and turned them into a spiced cake, based on this (but without the milk as it made a very slack batter). http://www.nutmegsseven.co.uk/blog/tmegsseven.co.uk/2012/02/daring-bakers-persimmon-and-walnut.html

still very sweet but the spice and walnuts make the sweetness bearable.
