Proof of source of deposit for solicitor/lender

I am buying a house and currently short of £15k to make up the deposit required to fund the purchase of the house.
However, I have some overseas savings and have transfered this to my Uk bank account last week. I understand that it is usually tricky to demonstrate the source of this money to solicitor for overseas savings but have an idea to bypass this but would like to get some advice here:
a) I will be selling my existing house and there will be capital release from the existing house to fund the purchase of the new house. It is currently a tracker mortgage which means I can overpay it. Can I overpay my existing mortgage by £15k so that when my solicitor is asking for proof of source of deposit, this is simply be the lower outstanding mortgage amount from existing mortgage ( hence larger capital release from it). Is there any issue doing this way?
b) I have credit card outstanding of a similar amount which my mortgage lender said I need to repay it ASAP in order for them to approve the mortgage (as currently they calculate the mortgage I can borrow assumed that my credit card balances are fully repaid). Again can I use the overseas savings to pay this off, then I don’t have to use personal (domestic uk savings) to pay this and can be used as proof of deposit?

Many thanks in advance.

I would use the overseas funds to pay off the credit card asap.
You will have to wait till next month's statement arrives to prove you have paid off the CC debt.
Keep your savings to prove you have the deposit ready and available !
