  • I suppose one way of looking at it, is how is he in other respects of moneysaving?

If this is his only extragravance then let it go - he's more likely to agree to other moneysaving measures that way.

Why not see if you can buy it cheaper say at Wilkinson?

I always buy Lynx and pay very little for it as I can almost always find BOGOF on it before I run out. Just stock up when you see it cheap, it's something you'll always need and wont expire.

Since when has MSE been about compromising your living standards? It is about getting value for money. Not getting something of less value.

If he wants Lynx, then let him have it. Just do as mentioned higher up and stock up when the inevitable BOGOFs are on.

  • I use solid deodarant sticks such as Boss, Thierry Mugler, Hypnose. They cost around 15 pounds but last upto 4 months. compared to the three quid atime links costs and lasts about two weeks then it is abig saving in the log run. And they smell a whole load better.
  • Buy the gift boxes in the post xmas sales - they come with a shower gel too...sometimes you can pick them up for like £1.50....keep your eye on places like Boots and the Supermarkets - and Wilkinsons. I have bought these in the past for £1.50 and stocked up for the year and for pressies!
  • I say let him have his Lynx. Let him smell nice. BUT tell him the fragrance isn't working for you and you couldn't possibly partake in any "horizontal dancing" whilst he smells like that. Whip out a can of Tesco Value man musk, spray, groan and wink and bob's your uncle! No more Lynx! :j
My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely

Tesco do an equivalent, same kind of packaging and (supposedly) smell the same (my Dad says they do?!). Or I think Aldi do one ...
    Gone ... or have I?
