In 6 months it doesn't matter. I'd ignore them unless they send a pre-action letter
  • To be honest I think all the payments have been made up. I am quite confident that I would never have made such random payments.

The £1 in May 2016, I know I definitely didn't pay, as I had had been very ill and my daughter had been diagnosed with cancer. It's a year I'll never forget and quite honestly, paying debt would have been the very least of my worries.
  • So I've been emailing PRA and asked for proof of payments, they have sent a Standard European Consumer Credit Information letter. Is this the same as a cca?

I still haven't had proof of the payments, they just keep emailing me the same bumpf.

Sounds like it's just an information sheet rather than an agreement showing your name, address, interest rate...

Debt camel has an article about it

Ignore them till May then it's statute barred even on their fictitious payments.

But let us know if you get a pre-action letter

Thanks fatbelly, I've just finished a rather painful chat with national debt line, who had no idea what I was talking about.

I also looked on the fca website and that said that this was a form for consumers to compare credit agreements, not that it proves any debt or payments made.

Thanks for the help so far, it is nice to be finding new things out about this debt business and the tricks they will use. I will be back if or when I get any court claim documents.

Sounds like ND weren't a lot of help then.

Next time someone talks to them about CCAs get them to read

    https://www.handbook.fca.org.uk/handbook/CONC/13/?view=chapter

as it should be part of their training
  • Just thought I come and update this.

After I'd sent my last email to PRA Group, I thought I'd just ignore them, however they sent me another email a few days ago, that my 30 day was coming to an end and they would resume collections activity.

So again I sent a complaint, the 3rd one, and after a few days received an email saying they will be closing the account. They still believe the Standard European Consumer Credit Information leaflet is a cca.

Hopefully that is now the end of that.

Thanks for the help and advice, much appreciated.
