Good morning, and thanks for starting Gers.Sorry I missed your birthday yesterday Nels, but hope you had a good day. 57 - you're still a bairn!!Not a lot going on here today, I need to go to the shops and do a bit of housework. The ironing pile is growing quite nicely, so I think that tackling that should be a priority.Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people.Take care folks.15

Good morning folks.Yesterday was a day of good and not wonderful 😀 The man with the new woodburner turned up very early, I was washed and dressed, even had a quick wash chugging away, but wasn't ready to leave. The chap up the hill came to help him, just as well as some part of the old one needed something called a pillar drill (??). Anyway, I hung up the wash, sent off my electric meter reading, got my overnight bag and left them to it. Drove about a mile before I realised that I didn't have any coat or jacket 🤭 so went back for one. Luckily the two chaps weren't there, they'd gone up the small track for tools.I got to Glasgow in good time so went off to JL to check out the sofa I'd selected when browsing. They had one in so I had a wee rest on it then looked over the fabric colour samples. I was happy with everything so ordered and paid for two for delivery in 13 weeks. The model name is the same as Camelot's DD which tickled me.
Went to hotel and was lounging when I realised I'd not got a confirmation email from JL. Phoned customer service, the chap couldn't find any record of my order ☹️ so back on with my shoes and back up to JL to sort it out. The problem was me putting my email address in wrong on their tiny wee iPhone machine.Back at the hotel I had a shower and squirted my oxters with shaving foam 😵💫 which I'd bought by mistake! To top up my small miseries I'd forgotten my pyjamas too. At least I slept well. This morning I'll to do a LFT again, yesterday's was negative , then off to the panto at 12 noon. It's called 'My man's a numpty' and only lasts an hour. Mind you, after yesterday I think that I'm the numpty. 😃
At least the new wood burner is in.Thoughts to the sad and poorlies. Happy Friday to all. 💕16 -
Morning All
Hope you had a lovely day Nels
Sorry I haven't been on for a couple of days
Had a call from the hospital on Wednesday as Ddad had yet another fall so they did a CT scan on his brain and sadly it was bad news and not what they were expecting they have found a tumour in the brain that has only appeared in the past few months
I am now in EA with Dniece as we are allowed to see and visit him which we did last night
We are now awaiting a specialist meeting next week to decide what if any treatment
Sorry to bring things down but I was so grateful when you were all thinking of him.after his hip op and falls
I may go home for Christmas and to be with DH but for now will remain here
Sending love and hugs to everyone

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I think it feels a bit nippier this morning. The weather is so up and down.
I never got back on yesterday so missed it was NELS birthday. I hope you had a lovely lazy enjoyable day .
I had a busy day, leaving at 8.20 for the vets. Oh my word Sparkle wasn't impressed with this stand in vet, there was much hissing and spitting going on. The nurse had to be summoned to pin her down for the injection. We got her home and then departed for Boundary Mills. Did I say I didn't really want much?! Well I ended up with a bright red winter jacket to replace my drab black one from the M & S outlet, as well as another blouse. Then a pair of knee high boots I didn't really need. But in my defence they were reduced and I had an extra 10% off, DD can shop for England and it was 6.00 pm by the time I crawled back through the door!
Every day seems to have been spoken for this week so today is definitely a stay at home one with cleaning top of the agenda. Not my favourite occupation but needs must.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad, worried or fed up. Take care one and all and be safe. xx

Editing to add special ((HUGS)) for NRA, we cross posted. I was so very sorry to read your news x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -

Dinner tonight will be fresh pasta with some prawns and salmon it was meant to be for last weekend but because I got the shopping day muddled it has been bumped to tonight, something to look forward to tonight !
Had a really busy day yesterday but got a load of jobs done that I have been meaning to do for ages so I can hopefully have a quieter day tomorrow.

Morning All
The name of the panto seems very apt Gers! Hope you enjoy it, I've been to the venue for a play and it's very good.
Sorry it's not good news NRA.
Poor Sparkle TA, hope she's OK this morning and has forgiven you.
Busy day yesterday, started off at Costco where the little one fell and banged her head, the staff were fantastic bringing ice packs and checking her over. By rights she should have been in the trolley but was just walking and fell over my foot. Nothing was the fault of the shop but they asked us to choose a cake free of charge to cheer her up! She was a bit quiet for a while then returned to her usual chatty self.
Called at the jewellers so DD could take in her ring to have it re-sized, she should have it back before the new year.
I was pooped when I got in so had a very relaxing evening with a friend calling in with gifts, good to have a catch up.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX14 -
Just want to send hugs for the bad news about NRA's beloved Dad. 🌺

I went shopping y'day with my DD who can also shop for England we had lunch at Yo Sushi, I love the train that delivers the food.
Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the thread Gers. Enjoy the show today – just had to look up oxters! I’m jealous that you’ve ordered new sofas. Ours are 14 years old, the leather has ripped in a couple of places, so bought two £4 throws from W!lko yesterday to cover the seat pads and save our embarrassment over Christmas. Will look for new ones when we have time in the new year.
NRA – sorry to hear about your DDad. I hope the specialist can recommend a course of treatment. Thinking of you all x
Florence – so lovely to hear of the donations. You are a busy lady!
No school for DS2 today as he only has study periods on his timetable and the school are keen to have as few pupils on site as possible.
I managed to wrap a good lot of presents last night so the tree isn’t looking quite so lonely. Found 4 rolls of wrap that I bought in the sales once I’d almost finished, which is typical!
Panto tomorrow – 14 of us – all jabbed expect DMum who is anti-vax…. She needs to do a LFT and register it. We have decided not to eat out afterwards as want to be sensible. Feel awful for the hospitality sector though. We then have a friends’ 50th party in the evening. We are all taking LFTs beforehand – could do with not going but feel rotten for our friend who has gone to much effort with caterers etc.
Hope you all have a good day and sending love and strength to all those with worries.
