Unless you are terminally ill or have an alternative very large pension provision then you won’t be able to transfer as no advisor would give a recommendation.
You will be throwing away money for negative advice.
OP, suggest you ignore this comment, it is not correct.
Agreed. An advisor will recommend a transfer if it is in your interests to do so. All your financial circumstances will be reviewed holistically.

    Still, 17 years till retirement

This could be an issue though, as the younger you are the more difficult to get a positive recommendation to transfer AFAIUI.

Although depends when you you mean by retirement age, as retirement is not the same as when pensions become available.

The online portal "Retirement Illustrator" Gives a figure of Full Pension (excluding bridging pension): £2,014.24 , but I do need to confirm that its a projected valuation... its not clear.

What is the scheme's normal retirement age?

When you left the scheme, you would have been given a statement of deferred benefits.

What was shown as post 88 GMP?

    And the excess?

How does your scheme revalue GMP in deferment?

    And the excess?

    And in payment?

How does the "bridging pension" operate?

Have you obtained a state pension forecast?
