Tax Question - Who is liable?

Hi, I was wondering, if I was to manage an Air Bnb listing for a property that isn't mine, would I need to submit the tax return or the owner?
The Air Bnb account would be under my name and the payouts would go to my account where I would then split the earnings 50% and give what is owed to the owner but if the account and payout details are all mine, does this mean I need to declare the entire earnings as my own, even if I am splitting it 50%?

The tax treatment/declarations follow the legal position of the contract between the owner, yourself and the guests.
It hinges on whether you're acting as agent or principal.0 -
Need to double check the exact relationships but in either way your net income is 50% irrespective if its a straight 50% or 100% with a 50% cost of paying the property owner.MC2986 said:Hi, I was wondering, if I was to manage an Air Bnb listing for a property that isn't mine, would I need to submit the tax return or the owner?
