Boots advantage card

Despite your reporting that Boots say they don't accept their loyalty card if stored on an app, I've never had a problem using mine which I keep on Stocard. I spent £25 in Boots points today and not an eyebrow was raised at the till.

In May 2020 Boots cancelled all advantage cards due fraudulant activity (a hacker). Then they reissued cards as digital only (presumably to save money issuing thousands of plastic cards). So the tills will have had to be able to accept digital cards in the Boots app from May 2020 as they were not really issuing plastic ones.0

They do still have the plastic cards when you sign up, I was behind someone signing up the other day. However, I have my card on the Boots app on my phone and I've never had an issue using it.

Oh dear, I must have a phantom card which has worked in store this year. I definitely do not have a digital card.jon81uk said:In May 2020 Boots cancelled all advantage cards due fraudulant activity (a hacker). I have my advantage card and my late mothers. Both work fine.0

I may have mis-read or can’t remember the full message from Boots back then. It’s probable I’m wrong and it wasn’t every card that was hacked and just a significant number of them.General_Grant said:

But my point was more than having to reissue a significant number of cards did push them to use more digital cards.
Pretty much all my loyalty cards are in my Apple Wallet now, I don’t really carry any physical cards.1
