Remortgaging - Use free provided legal firm or my own solicitor?

I'm looking to remortgage and pay off my help to buy equity loan with additional borrowing. I've received a mortgage offer with HSBC and they include a basic free legal service. I've been assigned Optima Legal for the legal work.
I was wondering do I need to use them? The online reviews aren't great and I'm thinking I'd rather pay a firm that's closer to me that's also easier to contact and chase if it needed.

We remortgaged with the Halifax earlier in the year and their free legals were provided through Optima.
We had a really good experience with Optima and found them to be very efficient but we did start the remortgage process in plenty of time before our deal with the previous lender expired, which gave them plenty of time to get the paperwork in order.
We had no complaint with the service and would be happy to use them again in the future. But we never had any reason to call them so can't comment on their phone service. We provided all of the required documentation through their online portal which we found to be very easy to use, clear and concise.0 -
If you ask most brokers, they would suggest taking the cashback option and using your own conveyancer rather than using a lender free-legals warehouse.I am a mortgage broker.
