Pre pay debit card

If I have money on a pre paid card, can HMRC, DWP etc see this account? It doesn't show on my credit file.

There will be no record on your credit file. But if you are subject to bankruptcy proceedings and try using this as a way to hide assets you are committing a criminal offence. There are other places they CAN look which could give this away.

  • Why would you need a pre paid card? Being bankrupt doesn't prevent you having a bank account with a debit card. And if you want to hide cash you can always put it in a shoebox under your bed ;)
