ICL SCHEME - Payday loan

I only discovered my cheque on 24th May,2021 from ICL after the Ist December, 2021. This money relates to reparations from unaffordable payday loans. The cheque was only valid upto 30th November, 2021. Long story short – they have refused to issue a replacement cheque to cover that amount. They already accepted liability but why would they refuse or ignore requests for a fresh cheque or BAC’S transfer. What is the best way forward? I have contacted the financial ombudsman who said this matter is beyond their jurisdiction. Any ideas on how and who I can complain to? According their website ICL will officially go into liquidation; this may complicate my quest to get my dues.

  • If you weren't able to manage your financial affairs in a timely manner i think this is solely your undoing and you'll get little support to the contrary.

6 months to be able to cash your cheque is plenty of time and any company would expect it to be cashed in a timely manner - how did it take you 7 months to notice the cheque ?
Even working and living overseas/away from home/etc doesn't mean being unable to be in control of your money management.
