Now that the Insurance Industry must offer the same rates to new and existing customers it would be great if the same regulation is applied to Home Phone and Broadband providers.  Their prices are becoming un-affordable if you need to stay with the company offering the best coverage while new customers are offered far better deals.

The Tariffs are becoming  difficult to negotiate due to pages of very confusing Terms and Conditions unlike when some companies began trading.  Splitting the length of so called contract lengths between Line Rental eg one year and Broadband eighteen months is unfair so they can charge a much higher rate on one or usually both parts until the longest contract expires to allow the poor customer to be free to look for a new company.  It is an added nightmare when the Line Rental and Broadband are of different lengths, customers are trapped because they are forced to put everything possible online and the providers are taking advantage.  When was it decided that during a contract extra charges could be levied?

Some are already doing that , BT for one if you look at their web pages though it may be hidden .

Agreed, I left virgin as I was paying the same as some on this forum for more, told them and they couldn't match it!

This will just mean deals are a thing of the past.  I don't see why people who can't be bothered to switch should be rewarded for their complacency.
