Taking pension benefits when living abroad.

So keep the UK accounts active when you are overseas and you do that by regular deposits from your pensions. Then just transfer the money to your foreign bank account. Make sure you have the logistics of the deposits and transfers all worked out before you need to start them. Be scrupulously honest about your residency, citizenship and and tax status. It looks like it will be similar to my situation getting money from US pensions to the UK ie. not too difficult with up front some planning.

It really is frustrating trying to get useful information from the company themselves. The people you speak to do not know why these rules are there. I am not resident in the uk, but I have a property there, several bank accounts, uk mobile number and do an annual tax return... but I am not resident so they just say they can't do it. So annoying.

You may find it hard to transfer to another provider.

Suggest you talk to your current provider again and ask if they would deposit drawdown withdrawals into a UK bank account.  Should not make any difference to them, so doubt they’ll object.

You should be able to transfer it to a HL SIPP but as with most of the SIPP providers you will be going through boring postage hoops as they cannot digitally identify you, your photo or you address.
