New employer Gone Silent After Job Offer

Hi guys,
Last month I was offered a position on Indeed following an interview the previous evening. The employer stated that with my notice period and their Christmas closings, it would be best if I started next year on January 4th and asked me to respond to confirm that this OK.
I responded back with my confirmation of acceptance of the offer.
Since then there has been no further contact from the employer and I haven't received any contracts or such through the post.
I have followed up this week on Indeed regarding documentation to bring on first day like Identification etc, but there has been no response.
I am panicking slightly as last week is the final week with my employer before starting with the new employer in the new year.
Is it normal for employers to go silent after job offers like this?
Many thanks in advance.

Thanks.
I just thought that was the job offer was enough as an unofficial agreement.
In the past I haven't waited for contracts before starting roles.
It's getting a huge headache the whole process if I'm honest.0 -
Pick up the phone.
Relying on communications via Indeed is a terrible idea if you need an answer.8 -

Typically you dont want to be arranging who you meet on day 1 that far out etc as who knows who'll be on holiday or possibly off sick etc that much in advance and sending list of things you need to bring etc are prone to being forgotten.
Contracts of employment dont need to be done until day 1 of your employment and many companies dont do them before. The only thing I;d really expect is a request for details of your references (which are sometimes on application forms etc anyway) and contact if they are having probs with the referencing.0 -

Ring them.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
It’s very common to hand in your notice once you receive a written job offer but before the formal signed contract.Because you agree the start date when the job offer comes through, taking in to account your notice period. Otherwise you will not have enough time to allow for your notice without potentially re-doing the contract to amend the start date…0

As suggested, if you're not getting electronic responses, you need to pick up the phone. The person you've been dealing with may be off sick, on leave, or snowed under - but someone should be able to tell you which it is. I wouldn't panic yet ...Signature removed for peace of mind1
