As for your mum's debts, follow Sourcrates and tell them the accounts were opened fraudulently and only came to light after your Dad's death. Ask for write-offs.1 -
It is worth checking to see if the debts are joint, or were simply accounts in his name with a second card taken out for your mum (actually for your Dad to spend on).
Most credit cards have lone account holders, so it is possible that a lot of it won't be in her name at all. I think you will need to go through all incoming emails and paperwork to discover the individual details.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
