Hi,
The advice on this site is amazing and thank you to everyone who regularly contributes to help people like me out.
Yesterday my husband had three letters from Lowell, claiming money (about £700) is owed to two credit cards and also a utility company from an address they claim he lived at for 3 months in 2018. Two of the letters are to his actual name, and one is to his name but with a middle name added (which he doesn't have).
He's dyslexic, dyspraxic and autistic and I am the one who deals with all of our applications, finance etc so I know he has never had accounts with any of these companies. We are very careful with money, have only ever had one car loan and never get things on credit.
I was going to ignore the letters but realised from this site that that's probably the worst thing to do. We have been saving for a house deposit and hope to buy in the next few months so these letters have totally freaked me out.
From all of the great posts I have read I think I have the right link for a response letter asking them to prove it - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2607247/letter-when-you-know-nothing-about-about-the-debt-aka-prove-it-letter
But, will they just send documents with my husbands name on, because in that case how do I respond, as the name on two of their letters is actually his name but isn't him, if that makes sense?
Do I just supply his passport as name evidence for the middle name letter we received? And letters from my bank or tax credits for example that prove that his address has always been our current address and not the address they are claiming on their letters? I'm unsure what I would need to provide to them but wish to resolve this asap as I'm so worried about these letters. Any advice very much appreciated. Thank you.

Provit letter first, see how they respond, then formulate a strategy should you need to dispute this further.
Could be a mis-trace, a different John smith yes.
