Heads up, compers! In order to investigate a technical issue, we've had to move some of the older threads from Game Over into a new category called 'Game Over Archives'. It'll be comps from before 2017, so shouldn't have too much impact on your day-to-day Forum experience. Thanks for your patience!
British Breakaway holidays

We have been advised we are runners up in a holiday competition in second place in an Instagram competition we entered last week. We have won two nights in a four star hotel but the voice mail we received says we have to pay and pre book breakfast now. Is this a scam?

I've changed my facebook username to NOBODY so when I enter FB comps I press the "Like" button it will say NOBODY likes this
The breakfast were £17.99 per person each day ..
That would of cost us the best part of £75........not a comp win really when you look at it that way!
There are 7 reviews posted, all with 1*, but this gives a rating of 2.3!
According to their help page:
"We use a Bayesian average in the calculation, to make sure that a business with fewer reviews starts off with a balanced TrustScore. This means that we automatically include the value of 7 reviews worth 3.5 stars each in all TrustScore calculations. As a business collects more reviews, this becomes a smaller factor in the calculation."
"Bayesian" isn't the word beginning with B that I'd use for their method!!
Wins:
Jan 22: Lawn Feed/Vegetable Seeds, Uncle Ben's Rice, Sculpted by Aimee Mascara
Feb 22: Rainbow Lab & Nature Lab kits, Decode 3-in-1 Makeup Remover, Furthermoore early proof copy, a Furthermoor chocolate bar and a gold foil print, Hollywood Bowl VIP Pass for 6, Drinkmate, World Book Day Book.
March 22: Kindle EBook, Whiskey at Home set, Motorpoint Rugby Ball, Shame of Life Cards (IWin), Jameson Set.
August 22: Years supply CeraVe Products
Also the background was a super busy call centre. Would a prize winner be called from a call centre?
Has anyone accepted this?
