When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Thanks for the thread Bagpuss! My main aim this week is to get shot of the killer cold from hell which descended on me at the end of last week. My boss decided he really didn’t want me in the office today - can’t blame him! My plan for tomorrow is to head in but say I’ll completely understand if he wants to tell me to go away again, I think.Today I have:
- checked banking
- done a few OnePoll, and a couple of Prolific surveys
- decluttered the bathroom cabinet, sorted a bagful of stuff to be thrown out, and some more to be sent to the charity shop
- sorted my toiletries stash so I know what I have. May yet sort out a couple of the vast quantity of body lotions to go to the CS as well.- checked my next repeat prescription order date and made a reminder to do it on that date
- sent an email to Shell asking them to send the returns label for their router, which they apparently want back.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hope the exam went well Bagpuss!I went in to the office but my poor boss decided enough was enough at lunchtime and sent me home. Allowing that he weather has now turned filthy and the rain is lashing down outside I’m quite glad the mile and a quarter walk back to the car was done in a bit of drizzle earlier not what has hit later in the day!I’m accepting I’m not achieving much today although I did get up early enough to wash my hair on the cheap electric rate so that’s a good thing. Also MrEH remembered to nip into Al’s this morning for bread flour. The pulled pork and sauce for tomorrow night’s tea is out defrosting.Oh and banks checked too.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

🎉🎉 Well done! 🎉🎉
I’m feeling about 100 times better today, thank goodness!
- banking checked
- loaf made ready for bread sauce - will also do weekend toast
- “Won” a discount code on the Clinique site when I went to buy a present there, so got 20% off the present
- Also found a bundle deal which got me my favourite mascara plus two other items for the same price as the mascara - and 20% off that, too.
- more decluttering and “small things” at home
- sorted out a new library card so I can access magazines via the app again.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Me too!I had to take stern action with our dining table - it now stays folded down unless we’re actually using it. Having said that, the middle section still gets stuff dumped on it, and of course not all tables even have folding as an option, so…
my plans for today:
- more Christmas presents to buy
- write shopping list for tomorrow’s supermarket trip
- remind MrEH about his tyres.
- book my own car tyres to be done
- tackle another “small thing”
- keep on with surveys - it DOES pay off! (Literally!)
- sort herbs and spices for taking away
- get stuff needed for tomorrow/Sunday out of the freezer
Tea tonight is risotto, and I need to decide on lunch for tomorrow as MrEH’s rugby is cancelled so I’m seeing a chance to use something from the freezer. I may then be able to get freezer 2 emptied and turned off…🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hello all!
I must admit I've been useless as keeping up for a few weeks now. Been so busy between jobs! But I'm nearly finished Christmas shopping and it's also my birthday Monday so I get presents (yay) Not really a lot happening, I closed Fluid and Barclaycard aswell so within the two months I've gotten rid of 3 CCs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe boards and spending & discounts boards.
